Abstract
:
This study aims to define the characteristics of the urban pattern of AI-Madinah AI-Munawarah, and describes all its parts and quarters before the 1950's. [t was based on description and analysis of the major urban elements, land use, circulation, streets pattern, neighbourhoods, and AI-Ahwash (clusters). To identify the urban pattern of AJ-Madinah, the city was divided into five super blocks, each can be easily defined and has its own characteristics. This division helped to distinguish between the differences in the urban pattern. The study also included analysis of the solid and void pattern and outcome areas of.AJ-Ahwash, gardens, public buildings, roads and houses; and defined percentages of areas for each identified super block.
