The Islamic Studies Department of Arts and Humanities girls’ college branch in Jeddah was established at the same time of the start of the college in the year 1394-1395 AH (1974-75) Over these years, the department of Islamic Studies has stood with its main task of propagating the correct religious consciousness and upholding the value of belonging to a religion in the hearts of students as well providing them with legal knowledge that will help them to stand firm with the religion and invite others to this religion the best way possible. Indeed the department in this country has produced many students who have studied distinguished sciences such as: Qur'anic and prophetic studies, Fiqh and its principles, Aqeeda (ideology) and contemporary schools of thought according to the syllabus of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jam'a, and they have contributed to raising the level of education of girls around the country
